EVENTS

It is part of the KAC mission to plan fun and helpful events and Adopt a Crags that both protect local climbing and also help build a community of responsible climbers and outdoor enthusiasts. Please see our EVENTS page for upcoming meetings, trail days, climbing programs and fundraising events.

GET INVOLVED

We know the local climbers have more skills than just crushing rock, and we’d love if you shared them! Non-profit organizations live and die by their volunteer staff. Are you very good-looking and able to climb 5.14? If so, then go be on the cover of Deadpoint. But if you’re dependable and willing to help, we’re always looking for volunteers at our events. Please help us protect and conserve our region’s climbing resources.

ABOUT US

The Knoxville Area Climbers is a climbing organization founded to support continued access to climbing areas in the Tennessee Valley region, in cooperation with the East TN Climbers Coalition, Cumberland Climbing Coalition, Southeastern Climbers Coalition and the Access Fund, while promoting responsible climbing and environmental stewardship.

To this end, we take the initiative to have the following responsibilities:

    1.  Pursue and secure climbing access to both public and private lands.

    2.  Maintain optimal recreational use of the Tennessee Valley outdoor climbing resources by

facilitating cooperation between climbers, private land owners, and public land managers.

    3.  Promote safe and environmentally conscientious development of new sites and climbing for all

         abilities.

    4.  Foster communication within the local climber community and the other local climbing

         organizations.
